Pork Chops with Apples & Sweet Potatoes

This meal is absolutely delicious. It goes well with steamed broccoli, collards, kale, or other green vegetables. At first I was leery to try this because I was not sure how pork chops and apples would taste together, but I am so glad I did because the flavors blend together so well in a savory and sensational way. Again, this one gets a thumbs up from my mother-in-law. :)

Cook Time

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 45 min
Ready in: 55 min
Yields: 4 servings

  • 4 pork chops, whichever cut you prefer (if thin cut, use 8)
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 8 yam patties, from freezer section
  • 1 tsp cinnamon, (add more or less to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine

Pork Chops with Apples and Sweet Potatoes

  1. Place the pork chops in a baking pan or casserole dish.
  2. Place the yam patties around the pork chops in the dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Then pour over the pork chops and yams.
  4. Place butter in about 4 different 1/2 tbsp dollops on top of the apple mixture.
  5. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 350. Serve with green veggies. So good!
