Fried Mashed Potato Cakes
Delicious Potato Recipe
One of my favourite foods is mashed potato. Whether if its soft velvety smooth creamy consistency, or the way it melts in your mouth, many people can agree that mashed potatoes is indeed quite delicious... as a side dish. That's its main drawback, it's only a side dish. However, mashed potatoes doesn't always have to stay as mashed potatoes. In fact, you can upgrade your plain smooth potatoes to a main dish. Sure it won't be as velvety smooth or soft, but its a great potato recipe I'm sure many will enjoy. i mean, it has potatoes, cheese and it's fried, what could go wrong?
Ingredients
- Mashed Potatoes
- 100 g feta cheese, cubed
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp oregano
- flour
- oil, (for frying)
- Begin by beating the egg and adding it to the mashed potato. In addition, add pepper and oregano to it. Mix well.
- After you mix the ingredients together, add the feta. Again mix, by hand, and form balls of potato with at least 1-2 chunks of feta in it.
- Dredge the potato balls in flour and flatten them a bit like patties. Fry them in a skillet with oil for 3-5 minutes per side, or till they are golden brown. Remove finished cakes from the skillet, and allow to drain the oil on a paper towel. Serve warm with any sauce you like. Bon appetit!
