Everybody on this planet likes and knows what a cookie is. You know what a cookie is too unless you've been living under a rock like the guy is in the Geico television commercials. Cookies go way back in time, and appear to have their origins in 7th century AD Persia. Cookies came to America in the early 17th century. The chocolate chip cookie was invented in 1930 at the Toll House Inn by Ruth Graves Wakefield. Today in the modern world cookies are also commonly used as ways to compile long-term records of individuals' browsing histories on their personal computers, but that not what we are talking about here. Here we are talking about great tasting cookies!

There's many different ways to go about getting cookies today. It's hard to beat the fresh taste of homemade Christmas cookies, not to mention the wonderful smelling aroma that spreads throughout an entire home as homemade Christmas cookies are baking in the oven. Christmas cookies have always been a favorite past time for many people, however not everyone has the time or talent to make cookies on their own. So you can always go to the grocery store and get a package of store bought cookies. They may not be as fresh as homemade cookies, but they are always good to eat as well, and there never seems to be a shortage of them. Pizza restaurants like Papa Johns are also getting into the cookie business today. They are making massive chocolate chip cookies, which are the shape and size of a pizza. They even cut the chocolate chip cookies in individual servings with an average pizza cutter just like you would use on a regular pepperoni pizza. They are not badly priced either at just 5 dollars.

There's also good old Girl Scout cookies which for some strange reason always taste better than other packages of cookies. Girl Scout Cookies are an icon of American culture. For nearly 100 years, Girl Scouts with the enthusiastic support of their families have helped ensure the success of the annual cookie sale. From its earliest beginnings to its current popularity, selling Girl Scout Cookies have helped girls have fun, develop valuable life skills, and make their communities a better place. Honey Boo Boo has even gotten into the act of selling Girl Scout cookies.

Now if homemade or store bought cookies aren't your thing, then there is a third option out there waiting for you. Kits for creating your own fancy cookies. These kits provide you with the opportunity of creating your very own cookies with colorful icing and candy toppings, and letting those creative juices that are all bottled up inside of you come on out for all of the world to see. These kits are especially very popular during the holidays, and the kit pictured below produces a dozen Halloween pumpkin cookies. Adults may like this art form of creating cookies, but children simply love it!
