Crock Pot Cooking

Crock Pot Recipes

I love to cook but sometimes there is just not enough time in the day to prepare a great meal, especially with three kids and a husband to take care of.  So my Crockpot has become my best friend; there are so many different things that you can do with a Crockpot and they are quick and easy too.

One meal that I love to prepare that my kids absolutely love is truly simple with only four ingredients.

1 Pound Polska Kielbasa (you can use almost any type of meat with this dish)

1 Cup Brown Sugar

½ Cup Ketchup

¼ Cup of Horseradish Sauce

Mix brown sugar, ketchup and horseradish sauce together to form a sauce.  Chop up Polska Kielbasa and pour into Crockpot. Pour sauce into Crockpot over meat.  Serve over rice.

This dish is very universal you can replace the Polska Kielbasa with chopped chicken or other meat.  The brown sugar and ketchup give the sauce a sweet taste and the horseradish sauce gives it a slight kick that even young children can handle.

Other sauces for Crockpot dishes:

Taco Seasoning and Salsa – This works great over a beef roast but again can be used for almost any type of meat.

Rootbeer, Brown Sugar and Pineapple - This combination is very interesting but yummy.  This also works very well with ham.

Barbeque Sauce – Use barbeque sauce to make a wonderful tasting meat.

The Crockpot is a wonderful invention and you can do just about any combination in a Crockpot just use your imagination.  I like to see what I have in my pantry to add to the Crockpot dish.  It usually turns out very yummy!!

agvulpes - I have heard of Osso Buco but I have never tried it. I hear that it is very tempermental and can either be extremely delicious or very bad. To be honest I have never dealt with it and am not very familiar with how you would cook it.

G'day T-mom, my better half has just brought one of these devices and is looking for some good recipes. This one looks good, we have some meat cut that sounds like Ozzo Bucco (hope thats right) do you think that would work?

G-Ma - I used to be the same way but now I use them when my hubby is barbequeing. I can make so many different side dishes to go with the bbq. Its just so quick and easy.
