- 3 - 4 spoon of sugar / country sugar
- 3 - 4 spoon of coconut grated
- Water as needed
- 1 tblspn of salt to taste
- Ghee as required
- Elaichi for aroma and taste.
- Vessels used - idly Steamer (you can also use puttu maker/steamer available from Amazon)
How to make Ragi Sweet
Step 1 : Take ragi flour in a large bowl (for ur convenience) add salt to taste and mix it well.
Step 2 : This is the important step as it decides the taste and consistency of the sweet puttu. So don't mess with this step. Add a little bit of water slowly and gradually till it forms a crumbs. So I suggest you to mix with your hands. The crumbs should not be too dry or wet.
Step 3 : Now transfer the mixture into Idli Steamer or puttu maker and heat it for 10 mins (based on the puttu cooking time).
Step 4 : Take off the heat and transfer the mixture into a bowl. Now add our coconut grated and sugar along with some ghee as required and mix it well. Atlast add Elaichi to it for some good aroma .
Pro Tip
To check the consistency of the crumbs, drop the crumbs so that it has to crumble.
You can also use country sugar instead of sugar. Because it brings you different taste and makes it an extra healthy snack .
