Recipe - Baked Apples

Everybody knows that baked apples are delicious. So, why don't I tell you how to make them? You can really use any variety of apple for this recipe; just experiment and see what you like.

Yields: 1 apple - 1 person. Cook for as many as you like.


  • apples
  • sugar, honey, or syrup
  • dates or sultanas


  1. Wash the apples and then core them. To do this, slit the skin with a sharp knife, making a ring round the middle.
  2. Place apples on a baking tray or in an ovenproof dish with a little water.
  3. Fill the centres with sugar, honey, or syrup. Add dates or sultanas if you like them.
  4. Place the tray or dish in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees Celsius. Bake until tender. The time will vary according to the size and type of apple you're using.

      I love baked apples. My mom used to make them in the fall. The house would smell soooo good and the apples would always hit the spot. Great hub.
