Bear N Mom Recipes - Orange Cream Fruit Salad
Here is another great recipe to add to the picnic or the holiday table. It's orange flavor and color are a welcome addition to any family dinner.
In the fruit season you can do the peaches and apples from the farmer's market or the grocery store. For that holiday table you can garnish with some maraschino cherries to give it that added boost for the festivities.
1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks
1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches (cut up a little)
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges
3 bananas, sliced (add last) optional
2 apples, chopped
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1/3 cups frozen orange concentrate
3/4 cups sour cream
1-1/2 cups milk
How To Mix and Make
Drain well the first 3 ingredients and let stand. If you are using fresh fruit, peel and chop and peaches and apples.
In large mixing bowl, combine all the fruit, then set aside.
In a small bowl, add dry instant puddling, milk and orange juice.
Beat with rotary beater until blended (a few minutes).
Next beat in sour cream. Then fold into the fruit.
Cover and let chill for at least an hour before serving.
If you are using at a picnic, be sure to take along some ice to put in the lid to keep the salad cold on the picnic table.
