Rice Crispies Christmas Treats

Updated on September 20, 2010

This is a holiday variation of the classic cereal treat. I have made the pudding tart shells and filled them with chocolate pudding and it is a real treat.

ΒΌ cup margarine or butter

4 cups mini marshmallows

5 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Melt margarine over low heat in 3 quart saucepan. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat, add the cereal and stir until well mixed.

This recipe sets pretty quickly so if you are going to mold it, you need to do it quickly.

Shape the cereal mix into 12 flat round pops, insert wooden skewers. When they are cool, use frosting to add candy to make faces.

Form 24 balls, each around a soft gumdrop or other candy. Roll the cereal balls in colored sugar or sprinkles

Press thin layer of cereal mix into buttered muffin tin cups, to form hollow shells. When cooled fill, with pudding and cool or with ice cream and freeze.
