The Neighborhood Tailgating Party

Grab out your cups, Get your ice now fire up the grill football season is coming fast and, on my block, where I live, we have a neighborhood tailgating party. Our neighborhood has been doing this for many years and when we have the tailgating party no locks their doors and everyone is happy to see each other and have a great time young and old.

I am telling you it's family fun and a great community social gathering, but most of all it's a total game day experience. Now when I say it's game time that it is with family and friends a little cold weather and great food that everyone shares in making it turns out to be one really big potluck.

To me it doesn't matter if your food is store brought or you make it yourself it's all about food, fun and family that makes it a total great experience.

It's families. It's fans. It's a community social. It's pre-game, halftime, post-game and more. It's the total game day experience.

When you're having a tailgate party or a big gathering, I think that your food should be easy to handle, something that you can eat right out of your hand without any utensils all you should need is a paper plate or a napkin or two. One of my favorite things to make for a tailgating event is grilled chicken and for this upcoming tailgating I am making grilled chicken drummies.

What is Chicken Drummies

Chicken drummies are the drum stick part of the chicken wing, they have more meat on the drum part than any part of the wing and are very easy to handle while eating. Now what I would like to share with you is my recipe for grilled chicken drummies that I am sure you will love.

Grilling is something I really love because if it's done right, it can be something really nice and easy that your family and friends will enjoy, I am telling you there is nothing better than great food and good flavors and with these drummies and this homemade B.B.Q sauce it's going to just take it up a NOTCH so let's begin, follow me.

When you're having a tailgate party or a big gathering, I think that your food should be easy to handle, something that you can eat right out of your hand without any utensils.

Grilled Chicken Drummies with Homemade B.B.Q Sauce

Ingredients for the B.B.Q Sauce

1 1/2 cup of water

1 teaspoon of olive oil

1 1/2 teaspoons of granulated garlic

1 cup of Hels curry ketchup (curry ketchup give thins a spicy, sweet and tangy taste)

1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar

1 Vidalia onion, minced

2 tablespoons of butter

2 tablespoons of brown sugar

1 teaspoon of white sugar

1/2 cup of tamari sauce

1 teaspoon of cayenne powder

1 teaspoon. Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon of sea salt

2 whole bay leaves

2 teaspoons of liquid smoke

Now let's begin to make this B,B.Q Sauce, Using a large heavy-duty pot on medium high heat add your Vidalia onions sauté your onions so it can bring out the sweetness of the onions let it sauté until the onions start to brown then add the water and all the other ingredients lower you to medium so the sauce can simmer.

While the sauce is simmering stir so it can thicken up and continue to stir so the B,B,Q sauce can blend all the ingredients and just let it simmer for about 35 minutes until it thickens up nicely. When it's ready put the sauce on low to keep it warm.

Now while the sauce is cooking it time to get the chicken ready for grilling. But to go along with this grilled drummies were going to prepare a quick Cajun spice seasoning that is going to enhance those drummies.

2 pounds of chicken drumettes
2 tablespoons of Spanish paprika
1 tablespoon of sea salt
2 tablespoons of granulated garlic
I teaspoon of onion powder
1 teaspoon of basil
1 teaspoon of cracked black pepper
1/4 teaspoon of white pepper
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of marjoram

Prepare your grill on a medium low heat and let it start to get hot I am using a propane grill to grill my chicken drummies. Now that you have your ingredients for you chicken drummies was your chicken drummies then set a side then grab a large glass bowl and combine all the Cajun ingredients blend well then use it to season your chicken drummies coating the drummies very well, then set aside to marinade a little while your grill is getting hot.

Final Methods
Now that your grill is hot on a medium low heat grease your grill grates, then grab you marinated Cajun spiced drummies and grill for 8 to 10 minutes then turn the drummies over and continue to grill for another 10 minutes about this time they should almost be done lower your grill to low, grab your B.B.Q sauce and start brushing the B.B.Q sauce on top of the drummies let grill for a few minutes them turn and brush more B.B.Q sauce on the other side so they can get that B.B.Q sauce to get that grilled B.B.Q look, At this point make sure the B.B.Q sauce is coating each and every drummie. remove from the grill on to a serving platter and enjoy.

Everything about this dish comes from homemade spices and ingredients that I am sure your going to love.
