Great hub and love cabbage. We live in WNC an area known for the best cabbage grown anywhere. My brother in law grows them and right now we have a plentiful supply.

Cabbage is such an easy ingredient and one that is still inexpensive to incorporate into one's diet. Whether eaten raw such as in coleslaw recipes or used in soups or sauteed as a vegetable accompaniment to a meal...there are many good health reasons to think about utilizing it more often. Sharing this! :)

Healthylife2, thanks for visiting my hub on cabbage soup diet recipe. I love this recipe. It is fully loaded with fiber. The fiber keeps me full and gives me lots of energy and regulates my blood sugar level. This is a very affordable soup and healthy for the body.

I think one of the big benefits of the cabbage soup diet is that all the "bad stuff" like processed food is eliminated allowing the body to detox. Did you try the diet and if so did you find you had more energy?

I also love to sauté cabbage with some onions, caraway seeds and apples in a little bacon fat for flavor. Delicious served with pork chops or pork roast and mashed potatoes. Guess my German heritage is sneaking out. Ha!
