      I also love to sauté cabbage with some onions, caraway seeds and apples in a little bacon fat for flavor. Delicious served with pork chops or pork roast and mashed potatoes. Guess my German heritage is sneaking out. Ha!

      I think one of the big benefits of the cabbage soup diet is that all the "bad stuff" like processed food is eliminated allowing the body to detox. Did you try the diet and if so did you find you had more energy?

Whether eaten raw such as in coleslaw recipes or used in soups or sauteed as a vegetable accompaniment to a meal...there are many good health reasons to think about utilizing it more often.       Great hub and love cabbage. We live in WNC an area known for the best cabbage grown anywhere. My brother in law grows them and right now we have a plentiful supply.
