How to make Palak Rice? Recipe using Spinach Leaves
Palak (Spinach) Rice Preparation
Palak or Spinach Rice is a healthy lunch and dinner dish. Palak Rice is a comfort food for many and easy to prepare. Given below are the Ingredients and method of preparation for the same.
Palak Rice Ingredients
- 1 Small Bunch of Palak finely cut
- 1 finely chopped Onion
- 1 Tomato
- 2 Cup Cooked Rice
- 2 Small Potatoes cooked and diced into 4
- a pod of garlic
- 1 tsp Grated ginger
- 1 tblsp mustard
- 1/2 tblsp urud and channa dal
- 2 red chillies cut into pieces
- Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tblsp garam masala powder
Method of Preparation
Heat Oil in a Kadai and do the seasonings 2ith mustard seeds, jeera, urad and chana dal and red chillies. Once done add Onions, tomato and Palak and close the Kadai with a lid and allow to cook. Add rest of the ingredients and allow to cook for another 5 minutes. Remove from fire and Add Rice to the mixture.Mix well. Serve with Papad and Pickle.
Palak leaves put in hot water, stained and run in a mixer can be used instead of cut Palak.
Left over Rice can be used.
Half a Lemon Juice can be mixed to the rice.
1 tsp ghee added gives a good taste to the Palak Rice.
1/4 Cup grated Coconut can be mixed for a different taste.
