Updated on May 17, 2012

While we were out and about this weekend we found a farm that grows lots of different types of produce. This weekend they were having strawberry picking and because my family LOVES strawberries we couldn't pass it up.

About Gross Farms

At Gross Farms in Sanford, NC, they allow you to pick your own strawberries (or they have some already picked for those of you who just want to grab and go). It cost $1.35 per pound of strawberries. Not bad considering the Food Lion (grocery store) charges $3.99 for a 2 pound tub. That's a huge savings and you get a lot more memories picking them yourself.

Their business hours are Monday - Saturday 7:30am - 6:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm - 5:00pm. Below is a link to their website where all the information can be found.

I used to go strawberry picking each year with my neighbor in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. It is not only fun but a good cost saving as you pointed out. I would freeze a bunch of them so that we had them during other times of the year, plus made some strawberry jam. This hub brought back some good memories. Your photos are great! Voted useful, interesting and will share.

I remember strawberry picking days fondly. As a kid, it is fun and tiring, great for you and great for ya parents when you crash out later! lol

Shared, up (if I can find where it has gone) and tweeted.
