Super Easy Homemade Play-Dough!

Updated on September 15, 2012

I don't know about you but I loved play dough as a kid. Using their hands to sculpt and create is also wonderful for helping a child develop motor skills and creativity. Here is an easy recipe for play dough that smells good enough to eat... and is non toxic if the child can't resist.

You will need...

1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/3 cup table salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 packet kool-aid or food coloring

1/2 cup water

Video Instruction, Written Below

In a large bowl stir together flour, salt and kool-aid. Add oil. Microwave water for one minute or until it comes to a boil. Add water and stir until dough forms. Knead dough until all flour is combined and dough is smooth.

Abby, You are so sweet, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!! Do you really need kids as an excuse to play with play-dough?? ^_^ I was using this recipe when I was still in high school, lol. Thank you about your comments about my camera shyness... I've been thinking about challenging myself by making more videos.

This really works! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I have grandkids who love to use Playdough but I'd rather make it myself. :)
