Taste of the holidays: Review of Granny's Gingerbread Cream + recipes
Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas and New Year's Eve will all be upon us sooner than we think. We'll be invited to dinners and house parties. We may even host a few get-togethers ourselves, including surprise drop-in and impromptu guests. We want to have something on hand that's affordable -- especially in multiples -- seasonal, fun and unexpected. For the adults out there, how about a nice, creamy liqueur? For this time of year, Sazerac product Granny's Gingerbread Cream really hits the spot. I was happy to be hosted to experience it!
I experienced a nose of sugar cookies, a touch of gingerbread, vanilla, a hint of spice, cream and buttery notes.
As for taste, I noticed spice, ginger, cinnamon, heat, plus rich cream and butter notes. It's sweet, but not cloyingly so. There's a bitter almond aftertaste, adding sophistication to a dessert liqueur.
It has a light latte color with opaque, medium to light bodied fluid.
Sazerac describes Granny's Gingerbread Cream like this: "gingerbread spice and brown sugar notes . . . made with natural vanilla flavor and heavy creams sourced from Vermont dairies." Rich and delicious!
