The Pressed Cuban Sandwich

The origin of the pressed Cuban Sandwich is some what murky but one thing is for certain. It is delicious when made properly and not that hard to make. Once you do start making pressed Cuban Sandwiches you and your family will want them all the time. Did you know that the Italians aren't the only people to have built a sandwich culture around a contact grill. A contact grill is a grill like a George Foreman grill that the top can be pulled down and the top and bottom of the grill will be cooked at the same time. It makes the grilled sandwich crunchy and delicious and before long you will wonder how in the world you ever lived with out a pressed Cuban sandwich in your life.

The pressed Cuban Sandwich always comes buttery and crunchy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. It must also be flat enough to bite into comfortably.

For Your Pressed Cuban Sandwich You Will Need

1. 2 Tablespoons Salted Butter At Room Temperature.

2. 2 6-7 Inch Rolls Split In Half.

3. 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise.

4. 1 Tablespoon Spicy Brown Mustard.

5. 4 Slices Thin Sliced Swiss Cheese.

6. 6 Thin Slices Thin Sliced Pork.

7. 1 Large Dill Pickle Sliced Very Thin.

8. 6 Slices Thin Sliced Smoked Ham.

9. Cooking Oil Spray.

10. 2 Slices Aluminum Foil.

You will want to add salt , pepper and ground cayenne pepper to taste on your sandwiches before you place them on the grill and press them.

Divide the sandwich ingredients up onto the two sandwiches and spray your tinfoil well with the vegetable cooking spray. Preheat your grill to high and place your Cuban sandwiches on the grill between the tin foil.

When your Cuban Sandwich is done it will be buttery and crunchy on the outside and delicious and moist on the inside.

If you have to use Italian Bread for your pressed Cuban Sandwiches take some of the bread out of the center of the bread before you make your Cuban Sandwiches and press them.

An American Cuban Turkey Sandwich. Pressed this is one of the most delicious sandwiches you will ever eat.

An American Cuban Turkey Sandwich Recipe

Here's a delicious sandwich you can make and serve pressed on a grill and people will wonder how they didn't think of this oh so delicious sandwich. Believe it or not but this sandwich is so delicious you could serve it in place of the traditional turkey on Thanksgiving.

For Your Sandwich You Will Want

1. Thin sliced bread to make your pressed sandwiches with.

2. Cream Cheese At Room Temperature.

3.  Four Tablespoons Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce.

4. 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise.

5. 2 Tablespoons Salted Butter At Room Temperature.

6. Very Thin Sliced Turkey.

7. Lettuce Leafs.

8. Thin Sliced Tomato.

You will want to mix your cranberry sauce and mayonnaise together. Heat your grill thoroughly and you will want two slices of tinfoil well sprayed with vegetable cooking spray.

Spread one side of your bread with the cranberry sauce mayonnaise mixture and place your thin sliced roast turkey slices on the sandwich. Then your lettuce and tomato and salt and pepper to taste. Spread the other side of the bread with cream cheese and place the top on the sandwich. Spread your bread on the outside with the salted butter and press your sandwich under the pull down grill and toast until brown and crunchy.

You have just made one of the most delicious tasty sandwiches you will ever eat.
