Wooden Valley winery

The Wooden Valley winery is located off Hwy 80 in the Suisun Valley. My husband and I discovered it while living in Suisun and it has been our favorite winery and wines ever since. We visit wineries in other areas but always return to this one. We lived in the Napa Valley for five years, noted for their wines of course, and when asked which was our favorite wine we always stayed true to Wooden Valley and of course made a few enemies!! " You live in the Napa Valley and your favorite wine is from Suisun?". We heard that often.

So here we go heading out from our home in Vacaville, west on Hwy 80 toward San Francisco and when you see the signs for Solano College, just beyond Fairfield, you can turn there and head toward the country! The address is:

4756 Suisun Valley Rd.
Suisun Valley, CA 94534

The following is an excerpt from the website:

"If you'd been in this same tasting room fifty years ago and wanted something a little different, our grandfather Mario would have prepared a special blend for you.

If it was after five o'clock, our grandmother Lena would have invited you to stay for dinner.
Times change, and although you can now taste a whole range of varietals, buy all kinds of gifts, enjoy our picnic tables and take in some fine views, it all comes with the same old-style, Lanza family hospitality. 11am to 5pm, every day "

They have a great selection of white wines : Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, White Gamay and Riesling

Their red wines consist of : Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir and my favorite, Miscela, and Zinfandel Port 500m'

They are very generous with their samples and have a large line of gift/wine accessories.

There are special events throughout the year with Art shows, craft fairs, entertainment so check their website for dates of events.

Now, time to tell you about the others in the Suisun Valley!
