Chocolate chip cookies

Ingredients

125gm unsalted butter.

1 cup brown sugar.

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 egg

1 tablespoon milk

1 3/4 cup plain flour

1 tea spoon baking powder

1 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or you can break large chocolate into small bits)

Method

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees (gas mark 4). Beat the egg, butter and sugar together with an electric beater. Sift the flour and baking powder together and add into the egg mixture. Add vanilla essence, milk and chocolate chips and mix well to make dough.

Grease the baking tray with oil or butter. Make small cookies of about 2-inch diameter and place them on the tray, leaving about 4-cm space between each cookie. Bake for 15 minutes until crispy and golden. Mouth watering, delicious, chocolate chips cookies are ready.

Cake and fruit trifle

Ingredients

1/2 litre of custard 1/2 litre jelly

1 plain cake (500 gm)

6 bananas

2 apples

Canned pineapple

Method

Cut the plain cake into pieces and cover the base of the bowl with some pieces of cake. Now cover the pieces of cake with a layer of custard. Add a layer of fruits on the custard in the trifle bowl. Repeat this layering process till you are a few inches below the brim of the bowl. Now put this trifle bowl for an hour in the refrigerator for cooling. Your trifle is ready but the garnishing of the trifle is yet to be done.

Garnishing

Cut the remaining jelly into designs and use it as a decorative topping. Do the same with the remaining fruits. You can also use cream for the dressing.

Your delicious, luscious and mouth-watering trifle is ready.
