Vermicelli Upama
Ingredients :-
Vermicelli - 250 grams
Potatoes - 4 nos.
Onion - 2 nos.
Green chillies - 4 nos.
Mustard oil - 4 teaspoons
Ghee -2 teaspoons
Curry leaves - a little bit
Tomatoes - 2 nos.
Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Preparation method -
Step 1:-
Wash the potatoes well. Peel off the potatoes and chop into strips, set aside. Chop the onions into thin slices, set aside. Chop the green chilies into slices, set aside. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces, set aside.
Step 2:-
Heat ghee in a pan. Add vermicelli to it and saute until golden brown. Heat oil in another pan. Add curry leaves to it. Add chopped onions, chopped green chilies to it and saute in a low flame until light brown.
Step 3:-
Add chopped tomatoes to it and saute. Add chopped potatoes, salt and turmeric to it, saute a bit and close the lid, let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
Final step :-
When potatoes are half cooked add fried vermicelli to it, saute a bit. Add water to it and close the lid again, let it cook for another 5 to 10 minutes. Once cooked turn off the flame, serve it hot.
