What is Z' Tejas?

Great Southwestern Cuisine!

Z' Tejas located at Avery Ranch in Cedar Park Texas is one of my favorite girls night out restaurants in the Austin Texas area.

The service and the southwestern cuisine is one makes this a great place to enjoy great food and good company.

Upon arrival you are greeted by a pleasant host, you can choose to dine in the bar, on the patio, or in the restaurant.

The bar features a sports bar atmosphere, with seating around the bar or you can enjoy western styled bar tables, and it’s a great gathering place to meet new friends.

The patio is nestled under oak trees with a fire place and gas heaters for those cooler nights, creating a campfire like setting.

The dining area is lush with leather bound booths, or cozy candle-lite tables with a southwestern décor that is rich with tradition.

Once seated your server will take your order and suggest the house specials of the day. For starters you will get a searing hot pan of fresh homemade corn bread and sweet butter—ohh… the kind like my momma used to make!

The flavors, the presentation, the décor and the service present a five-star dining experience at affordable prices. One of my favorite places to eat so I thought I would write a review about it and share it with my readers.

The first Z’Tejas appeared in 1989, in Austin Texas. In 1993 Z’Tejas opened in Scottsdale, Arizona. The menu was influenced by specialties from Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, California and Arizona. There are 11 Restaurants in the Western United States.

Below you will find my review of some of the Dinner Menu Items, and of course I will be adding more photos and comments as time progresses-yum! I can't wait!

Chicken, Artichoke & Mushroom Stack
Chicken, Artichoke & Mushroom Stack

Chicken Artichoke

Wild mushrooms, spinach & artichokes with grilled chicken breast, topped with soy-mustard cream.

What an excellent flavor filled dish, the soy-mustard cream sauce, seasoned to perfection. The presentation and great color palate make this a wonderful dining experience.

Smoked Chicken Chile Relleno

Grilled poblano pepper stuffed with chicken, pecans, apricots, raisins, & Jack cheese, served with green chile & picante cream sauce.

I had to cut into this pepper to display the wonderful blend of chicken and seasoning that would make anyone’s mouth water with anticipation. The apricots spring life into this zesty dish.

The Chief’s at Z’Tejas work magic with the use of innovative mixtures of flavors that makes you coming back for more.
