Beer Review: Nickle Brook Ale
A Standard Ale
Microbreweries are great, and the Nickle Brook line from Better Bitters Brewing Company is no exception. Its always great to stumble upon a new great tasting beer. This is another beer from my Ontario Craft Brew case I got a while back, and man am I on a roll, every one I open seems golden, and this was no exception.

The Review
What first struck me about this beer is the gorgeous colour in the glass a nice cloudy amber with a nice medium sparkle from the carbonation. The nose smells of caramels with a slight hint of fruit. The taste opens with a nice grainy malt flavour and a strong, but not overpowering, bitter hop. The finish was clean and sweet where the fruitiness from the nose clearly comes into play, I'd say a lemon tinge to it.
An excellent ale, not on par with some others I have tasted, but good none the less. A fine example of why the Nickle Brook series is gaining popularity.
One thing I did really enjoy is the bottlecap. Written inside the cap was this simple and clever message "A penny for your thoughts, a Nickle for your thirst". Tacky and silly, but cute as well, a great catchy slogan for the series.
