Simply adding or combining an additional ingredient can greatly increase the nutritional value of your rice recipe and even provide curative effects and therapeutic benefits.

The pumpkin contains pectin which when added to rice increases its viscosity. This makes the body absorb it more slowly and therefore is best suited for diabetics who need to control blood sugar levels through the food they eat. It also has other nutritional element named mannitol which regulates bowel movement and decreases the toxicity of feces, which prevents colon cancer.
