Interesting Tea Fact

Where does tea tree oil come from?

•Did you know that Tea tree oil doesn't actually come from tea bushes or trees?

That's right, tea is produced from Camellia sinensis which is an evergreen shrub or small tree.

Tea tree oil on the other hand is made from the plant Melaleuca alternifolia which is native to Australia and completely unrelated to the tea plant used to make tea.

Try This Exquisite Tupelo Honey - The Queen of all honies - add the perfect touch of sweetness to your tea

Tupelo Honey
Tupelo Honey

Tupelo honey gained much recognition as the name of a 1971 hit album by Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, but tea lover's world wide know it as a rare varietal honey produced from the nectar of the tupelo tree blossoms found in the Southeastern United States. This tree blossoms for only three weeks each April.

Tupelo honey trees produce an all-fructose honey with a wonderful melt in your mouth flavor, that never crystallizes in the bottle.

This 20oz. bottle contains enough tupelo honey to add just the right amount of sweetness to all your favorite teas. If you are looking for the "Queen of the honey world" this is the tea for you.

Your "Japan Crackle Hearts Tea Cup" is actually called Somayaki. I have two of them. One exactly like yours, except for the fact that has been used so much the painted horses wore off. The other is plain green crackle and the horse is inside at the bottom of the cup done in bas relief.

@Rusty Quill: Thanks! I love the emphasis on artisan pottery on this lens. As much as I love the little cups, I also love drinking tea from a mug and there's something about hand-made pottery where each cup or mug is different. Some of the stuff you have here is beautiful too.
