Super Easy Chili Recipe

Quick and Easy Delicious Basic Chili Recipe

Looking for an Easy Chili Recipe? This is my go-to recipe for quick easy chili. I like to eat it in my favorite Tabasco chili mug, but no - it's not hot (unless you want to make it that way). It's just good, flavorful, easy and quick. The best thing about this recipe is it's full proof! You can't mess it up AND you can tweak it in many ways by adding more of this or that til it's perfect for you. The exact recipe shown here is just how I like it.

I cook this for my husband on Sundays so he can munch on it all day while he watches football. Eat it plain or add cheese, sour cream or one of our favorites, broken up tortilla chips.

1.25 lbs of ground beef

1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce

2 cans (15 ounces each) dark red kidney beans (or light red, or chili beans, or pinto beans)

Directions for Easy Chili

2 steps: brown beef and cook altogether

Add ground beef and onions to skillet, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and brown til done. Drain fat then add meat/onion mixture to stock pot (6 qt or larger). Add remaining ingredients (all 6 cans, chili powder and salt) to stock pot and bring to a boil stirring often. Reduce heat and simmer.

You can dip out a bowl as soon as everything simmers down. But the longer you let it simmer, the better the flavors will be.

*You can also cook this in a crock pot. Follow these directions, but after browning the beef, put everything into a crock pot vs. a stock pot and let it cook on low for hours and hours.

Make it your own: In this picture you can get an idea of the proportions of ingredients. If it's not enough beans for you - then add one more can. If there's not enough tomato sauce - add more!
