I would prefer pizza and wine. Maybe a movie or music. For my wife, I'd make trout almondine and muscadine grape juice (red) with creme brule for dessert. I'm pretty sure I misspelled some things here. I'd get a baby sitter, and put on We're No Angels with Bogart. Then I'd light a fire in the back yard and sit out there with her talking until late. But that's me.

Whatever will make their day...for my husband, just anything he doesn't have to cook helps him, but following it up with one of my homemade pumpkin pecan cheesecakes always puts smile on his face no matter how bad the day has been...and that's saying something, he works in surgery and some days the news is that someone died on his table.

If its your partner's crappy day at work then prepare his/her favorite

If its your crappy day at work, then whatever is cleaver. LOL

I remember I had a crappy day at work and came home to prepare dinner. The menu WAS going to be mealoaf, mash poatatoes/gravy, and corn. However, when I got home I just threw everything in the same pot and called it dinner. They loved it. LOL

Anything that makes them smile.  For some pizza and beer. For others, perhaps a nice steak with some wine. I think anytime they don't have to come home and cook, it's nice!
