It is a homemade mix that replaces Bisquick:
•8 cups all-purpose flour (or 4 cups each all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour)
•2 Tablespoons baking powder
•1 Tablespoon salt
•2 teaspoons cream of tartar
•1 teaspoon baking soda
•2 cups dry nonfat milk
•2 cups shortening
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl .. cut in shortening 1/2 cup at a time with pastry mixer, a kitchenaide mixer or if all else fails .. 2 knives. Mixture will be look mealy when completed.
Place in air-tight container - store either in refrigerator or at room temperature. Use within about 3 months.
