How do you make dandelion tea
Do you pluck the plant and boil the petals? Crush them first after you wash them? Is it good? I love tea and have always been curious about dandelion tea
Dandelion tea is usually made using the leaves of the plant. You can use them fresh, or dried. If you are using fresh, be sure to pick in an area where there has been no pesticide or chemical use.
The tea is a little on the bitter side, but with added honey is very good. It is very good for you too. It is a great tonic for the liver, and as a bitter works well for digestion. The leaf is normally used as a diuretic. While the leaf is detoxing to the body, the root is one of the most detoxifying herbs. It is beneficial for many conditions including constipation, skin conditions such as acne and eczema.
It can be used to prevent gall stones.
To make it, simply pour hot water over the leaves and let it steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain out the herb. You can also use a tea / coffee press, or a tea ball to make the tea.
To make it a little less bitter, you can add a little peppermint!
Enjoy!

Is it possible to oversteep tea?The directions on the back of the tea bag states that the tea should be steeped for 3-5 minutes. What happens if the tea is steeped for, say, 10 minutes or more?
