Why Would You Want A Stand Mixer?

There was a point in my life, believe it or not, that I thought there was no way I'd ever bake, and because of that I saw no real need for a stand mixer. I always loved cooking, but baking didn't come naturally to me. Things have changed, I bake bread, make cakes, but beyond that I have learned that really I mix a lot of things, and a stand mixer would sure speed that up.

KitchenAid Stand Mixer

A stand mixer is your perfect kitchen tool for all your mixing needs. Making the perfect batter, needing dough just right, beating egg whites to form perfect meringue. And with the host of attachments available for the KitchenAid stand mixer it makes this tool a clear winner.

I have never had a stand mixer, but they sure would have been handy to have when I still had kids at home. - Very nice lens. :)

I have one I bought for my birthday 2 years ago and really glad that I did. I love baking cakes and healthy cookies for my kids. Why I stayed a martyr doing it with a hand-held beater? Blame it to the conservative hubby. I should have known better.

@arnman2007: Nice. kneading bread dough by hand is a pain, hopfully I can afford to get a mixer soon so I can avoid it from now on when I make bread :D

Normally I use it to make bread dough and pizza dough, but lately after watching show after show of Cake Boss, my mixer has become a double used item now. I cant leave home without it.

Hi TheMeadMan, I was glad to see the example you made for this tool quest. I like the mix of information and products you featured for the mixer. I'm just getting my feet wet here at Squidoo and seeing how well you serve visitors is great.

I LOVE my KitchenAid stand mixer. Because of its heavy base, I can let it run, mixing my ingredients, while I work on the next step in the recipe. Mostly I use it for baking--brownies, cookies, cakes, etc.
