Oreo frosting is one of my favorite things. I cannot justify eating it unless I have something for it to go on...like cake. I love oreo cake because it can be made with very few ingredients or it can be an extravagant recipe. I prefer the simplest version. This oreo cake will soon become you and your family's favorite dessert. Make sure you have a glass of milk nearby, but remember, you can't dunk this cake. So go ahead, grab a pack of America's favorite cookies and turn them into mouth watering cake frosting.
How To Make Oreo Cake Frosting: 3 Oreo Frosting Recipes
Layered Oreo Cake Recipe
Start with a boxed chocolate cake mix baked by package directions. You can also use your own favorite chocolate cake recipe. Make 2 or 3 layers, It's up to you. Next make your favorite oreo cake frosting and spread between layers and the whole outside of the cake.
Here's some favorite Oreo cake frosting recipes. These frosting recipes can be made with any of the special edition Oreo cookies. The candy cane Oreos would make a nice frosting for vanilla cupcakes!
Oreo Cake Frosting Recipe #1
8 oz cream cheese, softened
16 oz powdered sugar
8 oz Cool whip, room temperature
15 Oreos, crushed
1/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract
In mixer, cream the cream cheese and sugar. Add vanilla, mix well, and stir in cool whip. Mix well. Fold in crushed Oreos until well blended.
To add more detail, add additional, chunkier pieces of crushed Oreos to the top of the cake. Or even Oreo cookies cut in halves.
Oreo Cake Frosting Recipe #2
10 oz cream cheese
7 oz mascarpone cheese
2 to 3 Tablespoon icing sugar
15 crushed Oreos
Cream both cheeses and the sugar, mix in the cookies.
You can also use mascarpone cheese only and replace the cream cheese by more mascarpone.

This is a quick fix: make a batch of whipped cream and add your crushed Oreos . Friendly warning: I eat that with a spoon, it rarely makes it to the cake!
