Simple Chili Recipes

Here are some of my favorite simple chili recipes you can throw together in no time to feed your hungry crew! Busy moms need an arsenal of easy chili recipes to wrangle together!

Your time is limited. Mine too! We go all out to cook for our families when we can, but there are days when I just cannot fit in homework, music lessons, soccer game and cooking supper!

We all have our favorite version of the classic chili recipe. Feel free to adapt any of these recipes to suit your tastes. Switch things up! If the recipe calls for rice and you like macaroni, boil up some elbows!

You love chili loaded with beans, but the recipe is beanless? Open a can of beans and throw them in!

Got a mild recipe, but you love fiery chili? No problem! Toss in a couple of tablespoons of chili powder.

Honestly, when it comes to chili, it is hard to go wrong. Experiment and try different things. Throw in a can of corn. Substitute beer for the water. Got some leftover salsa? Dump that in too!

When it comes to chili, you are only limited by your imagination. So feel free to have fun with these simple chili recipes!

10-Minute Chili

Simple Chili Recipe No. 1

Here is a very simple chili recipe from my Aunt Madaline that you can make in 10 minutes! This recipe makes 4 servings.

Step 1. Brown 1/2 lb. of ground beef in a skillet, then drain off the fat.

Step 2. Add the following ingredients:

2 Tablespoons instant minced onion

1 15-oz. can Tomato sauce with herbs

1 15-oz. can kidney beans, do not drain

2 to 3 teaspoons chili powder

Step 3. Simmer this mixture for 5 minutes and serve piping hot.

Here is a chili I concocted one winter evening when I needed a quick supper between homework and basketball practice. It was a hit with my family. Your family will enjoy it too!

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1 large can sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can garbanzo beans (or substitute another bean)

  1. Brown hamburger with onions and green peppers. Drain off fat. Add sloppy joe sauce. Add beans. Simmer. Serve over brown rice.

Children's Chili - Simple Chili Recipe No. 3

This is a good chili for children because it is not spicy. This recipe makes enough for the kids. If you want to serve this to your family, double the recipe.

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 onion finely chopped or grated
  • 1 8 -oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 40 -oz. can pork and beans drained
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Brown the gound beef with the onion and drain. In a large saucepan, combine the meat and onion mixture and remaining ingredients. Simmer twenty minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve with grated cheddar cheese sprinkled on top.

Super Simple Chili!

This must be the simplest solution to your chili craving. Just open a can and heat!

I like to serve canned chili over a bed of rice, and top it with cheese and/or sour cream, for a quick family meal in a hurry.

You can save money and time by having a case of chili sent to your home on a regular basis, every month, twice a year, or somewhere in between.

What are your favorite chli ingredients? Do you like beans? Do you serve your chili on rice or macaroni or no grain at all?

It's Over ?This hurts because I still love my ex wife and we have cehidrln together, but we have had our share of ups and down over the last 5 years. We have made up and broken up several times due to lack of communication. Whenever I want to talk about the problems she shuts down and nothing gets resolved. Either way I still love her she confessed that she still does as well however she has been talking to the new guy online (in whom she has never ever met before) who lives in Australia when we live in West Palm Beach Florida. I know that she is my ex wife but considering that I still love her it bothers me even though he is miles and miles away. Last night I went to spend time with the babies and I wanted to talk with her to find out what really happened and how come we never really tried to fix our relationship. She is mad with me because I have left many times and I told her the reason why I have left. The reason why I have left is because she takes me for granted and when I start to call her on it she shuts down because she thinks that Im either starting a fight (when all I want to do is fix things) or that Im insecure and that I just want to Nag . When she does this I get turned off and then communication goes out the window and we act like neither of us are there and then that's when I decide to leave and break up. So as I was saying last night I tried to speak with her about this issue and she looked at me and said it's over. So im like ok, we never cheated on each other the years, I put her before me in everything, with what little I had I gave, and I was her emotional and physical support whenever she needed me but it was not enough. And now she is chatting online with this guy who lives in Australia that she has never ever ever met and she says that it's over . What can I do to get her back. We have been here before and we reconcile but now she says it's over. When all I have ever wanted to do is fix our relationship and get back to that place we once had. I have tried to move on and date but its hard for me because she still has my heart, and it hurts to hear her say that its over and that she is talking to someone she has never met. I don't even know if he is a rebound guy, because he lives in another country! Is it really over?

I remember a time long ago when I was a MIT (Manager in tnaniirg) at Laundry's Seafood, the kitchen manager would get the newbies to do the stuffed jalapeno poppers and the other kitchen staff would not tell them to wear gloves talking about hands, faces, and maybe eyes burning the rest of the day! LOL

My hubby makes a really spicy chili and serves it over rice. Growing up, I ate chili with lots of crackers and doused with ketchup. I like chili with cornbread too. Like you said, you can't go wrong with chili.
