10 Tips For Getting More Wins in Fortnite

Updated on May 12, 2018

Have you ever struggled to win a game of Fortnite ? Fortnite Battle Royale was released almost 8 months ago and is already one of the most popular free to play games across the globe. The purpose of Fortnite Battle Royale is to win. 100 Players drop on an island and collect weapons of different tears and resources. The last person standing earns the "Victory Royale". Not too long ago it was released on IOS devices and is soon to come to Android. Here are 10 tips to help you win your first game of Fortnite Battle Royale.

Tip Number 1: Learn to Build . Building is Crucial !!!!

In Fortnite Battle Royale you have a building option. You can build Walls, Floors, Stairs ,and Pyramids. This is your defense against incoming attackers. Practice building walls and ramps around your character when being shot by an incoming enemy this will give you time to quickly drink a mini shield or use Med-Kits and bandages you find around the map. You could use these small huts to peek and do little bits of damage to your opponent. All in All building is crucial in Fortnite. Practice building the right things before you prioritize speed .

Tip Number 2: Loot is Not Only In Big Cities

When you're playing Fortnite, You notice places like Dusty Divot, Tilted towers, and Retail Row are always packed with players. Often unknown locations can have just as much loot as the big cities. For Example , The broken down bus next to Shifty Shafts contains 1 to 2 chests. Landing outside of a big location gives you a chance to get common or some good loot . You might also kill players on their way to move into the new circle or new location. Landing in large areas can leave you with little or no loot. PvP with pickaxes isn't very fun .

Tip Number 3: Communication is Key !!!

In this case if your playing duo or squad communication is key to a successful game. Letting your teammates know when you're gonna move to a new area on the map or when a squad is incoming may save your lives. This may also be important when it comes to loot giving your teammates healable or shield when they call out. Communication plays a very important role in Fortnite. This may come between you and the win with lack of communication between you and your teammates.

Tip number 4: Stay Calm and Collected

Some players in Fortnite when being shot at panic and make stupid decisions without thinking about what they're doing. This is lack of awareness in your game. Try to stay aware of your surroundings in game and know what to do in hard situations. This will help when you get into a really long build battle or get caught in a fight when the storm is closing in over your head . Maybe even produce some clutch 1 V 4 situations . Stay Calm and collected during games and just have fun!

Tip Number 5 : Be Aware of Your Surroundings

In Fortnite you must be able to hear what's going on around you. I personally think you should use a headset with game volume included. Using volume on your TV may not help you hear which direction another player is coming from. Knowing your surroundings may give you a competitive advantage. When running in an open area try not to run in a straight line this may get you sniped from a distance. Every few seconds you should check behind you for any other player who may be trying to sneak up behind you and attack you from the behind side. This is another crucial tip for Fortnite.

Tip Number 6: Use The New Builder Pro Controls

In a recent update Epic Games Released a new set of controls to Fortnite. Builder Pro makes building much faster and efficient. This can save you from enemy players trying to shoot at you as I explained in tip number 1. Building is the most important defense technique in Fortnite Battle Royale. This will increase your level of play significantly once you become use to the controls.

Tip Numer 7: Dont Do Your Battle Pass Challenges Right Away

For all you Battle Pass owners , When the battle pass challenges release in the first few days don't attempt to do them . They are ripe every player will be trying to complete the challenges at the beginning making it much harder and making your chances for a win go down. If one of your challenges is "open chests in shifty shafts." Shifty Shafts will be a very packed location for a few days avoid landing directly in that location. More players gives you a higher chance to die.

Tip Number 8: Be Agressive but Also Smart

When a player decides to play a defensive strategy it is okay to push them and be aggressive. A lot of the time though When a player pushes another player they make stupid decisions. When pushing always try to ramp up to high ground and cover your ramps to prevent being shot down and taking the extra fall damage and giving them the height advantage. If the other player tries to retake height advantage you may have to take some extra steps and use editing to make a smart push and come out with the kill.

Tip Number 9: Prioritize Resources !

Whether you are a defensive or offensive player resources are a necessity. Having low amounts of resources and getting in a build battle may end up getting you eliminated or in a tough spot without meds. You don't wanna be caught in a tough situation during the beginning or even near the end of the game. This may leave you with little health and make you vulnerable near the end of the game most certainly getting you killed. Remember we aren't all Ninja.

Tip Number 10: Prioritize Healables !!!

Healables are very important in the game of Fortnite! If you get into a battle and loose 90% of your health you may want a Handy Dandy Med-Kit or some Bandages to quickly patch you up. You may only need mini shields to carry to quickly shield you in a battle when you get some damage taken to shield and right after get back into battle .
