5 Best Facebook Games 2014 - Top Free FB Games of 2014

Updated on September 15, 2014

Founded by Mark Zuckerburg in February 2004, Facebook is now the world's biggest social networking website, with over a billion active monthly users.

While we all use Facebook to check out what our old school friends are up to, or to post cute pictures of pets, it's also an incredibly popular platform for games. Some of these games have over a million users a month, while others have only 100. Below you will find a list of the five best free games to play on Facebook. If there are games I've left out that you really like, I'd love to hear about it, so please tell me in the comments.

1) Candy Crush Saga

Candy Crush Saga is the most popular game currently on Facebook, with over 46 million monthly users.

The main appeal of this game is the endless play option. Yes, you read that right: this game has no end at all. The developers initially created 350 levels, which are updated and added to every day. There are now 605 levels on Facebook.

The gameplay is very simple. It's a "match-three" kind of game, so you want to align three of the same candy types in a row in order to eliminate them. Each level has different configurations and objectives: in some you have to reach a particular score, while in others you have to bring the fruits down.

You also have an option to purchase in-game boosters to help you win more levels easily.

Careful, though, this game is ADDICTIVE!

2) Pet Rescue Saga

Made by the same developers as Candy Crush, Pet Rescue Saga is another puzzle game with a similar game-playing interface.

Objectives are different for different for different levels. But the primary aim is to save the pets, which are placed on top of all of the blocks, from the Pet Snatchers. You save them by breaking the blocks by matching similar ones together, and bringing the pets down to you. This game has millions of users world wide and is considered one of the best Facebook games of 2014.

Check out the gameplay below!

3) Texas Holdem Poker

Texas Holdem Poker is a game for Android and Facebook, based on the popular poker game. The game is developed by Zynga Studios, who are most famous for their "-Ville" series like Farmville.

This is a typical poker game. You can play with your friends or Facebook users you don't know. At its height, there were 38 million active users and there are still millions of daily players.

4) Farmville

Probably every Facebook user has seen a post in their feed asking for help to take care of some cows. Farmville was one of the fist and most influential social media games. In Farmville, you simulate running a farm, growing crops, livestock, etc. Farmville 2 is similar to its predecessor, but with new updated graphics and tweaks to the gameplay.

As with the first Farmville, players have plow land, plant crops, water them, and harvest them in order to make money. Players are encouraged to spend Farm Bucks to speed along their progress, which can be purchased with real-world money.

5) 8 Ball Pool Multiplayer

This is currently the most popular online pool game available. This game has a fantastic player interface, with great views of the pool tables. The game is also really easy to learn while still being very enjoyable to play. All you need to learn are the angles, and how to put some spin on the ball. These two skills will take you to victory. This game has over a million monthly users.

In this game, you try to earn coins to play more games of pool. You can earn coins either by spinning the wheel of fortune or by buying them. You can play one-on-one or have an eight-player tournament, in which you have to win three knock out games to become the champion. All in all, this is the best pool game online and the most enjoyable Facebook game as well.

These are the five best Facebook games of 2014. Thanks for reading.

Things changed a bit. Besides Soldies Inc. which I play daily, I also played a lot of "BetNow" (free bets against my friends, beers, burgers, stuff like that) and I have to say it was quite useful during the World Cup -
