A graphically enhanced summer

Updated on April 12, 2013

A few months of great games

When I have to put down the controller and trudge of to the day job it is always a countdown to when I can return and continue. I'm sure there are many out there that over the past few months have spent many hours passing from one world to the next.

A lot of money spent on an impressive line up of games this year. Also the picking up quite a few Pre-Owned for the purpose of claiming those elusive achievements.

Gears of War 3

It started with Gears of War 3, I hadn't purchased it and had managed to hold of until I was introduced to it by a friend. That started me of and I was straight into Game to buy Gears 1,2,3 and the DLC and play through the story. Why had I waited so long to play such classics. I'm still working my way through and will probably be playing them for a while. Especially now I have acquired a 3D TV, Gears 3 just has a little bit extra.

Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 was for so many a massively anticipated game and with DLC still being made available, I'm sure it won't be to long before I'm taking Commander Sheppard of across the Universe again.

Lego Batman 2

When a break from point and shoot is required I always find a simple comic solution is the Lego games. This years offerings being Batman 2 and the soon to be released Lord of the Rings. So addictive and it's hard to explain why. You just want to solve all the puzzles or if not it's Lego so "smash" and have a laugh.

Fifa 13

For my sporty side I had the Fifa series updates to keep me occupied. The updates to the game were noticeable although I do find that I have to unplug Kinect when I'm playing career mode. It's a little sensitive.

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 was all that was expected and when finished I rushed back to Game again to pick up Borderlands again because I really wanted to play through number 1 again. A good time filler whilst waiting for the DLC for number 2 to be released.

Halo 4

Halo 4, it came, it was played and it will be played a lot more. Waiting for the Spartan ops to become available and so War Games will have to do for now, not that that is a bad thing.
