Adult Diecast Model Car Collectors --- Toys for the Big Boys

Updated on February 1, 2015

I am a Diecast Movie Car Collector

It is amazing how people when hearing the word “toy” would associate it with kids. Which makes sense because toys are really meant for kids to be played with. However, there are some teens, and/or adults, who enjoy toy collecting. Some may play with their collection, while most of these adult toy collectors treat their toys as collectibles, treasures to pass on to the next generation.

I am in fact a toy collector myself (diecast movie car collector to be more specific). Mainly collecting TV and Movie diecast model cars, Batmobile vehicles, and Transformers franchise products. Though am also collecting anime figures, Volkswagen diecast vehicles, and Ferrari diecast collectibles as a side collection.

Why collect diecast model cars? Why buy Transformers toys? Is toy collecting actually a hobby? First off, toy collecting is considered a hobby and can be related to stamp collecting, antique collecting etc… Secondly, this hobby is actually cheaper than most type of hobbies but can get quite expensive if things get out of hand. Am talking about buying any type of toy without focus. Lastly, toys (especially model diecast cars) are also precision-engineered pieces. It takes extreme skill and time to design and manufacture these items (well the rare ones are such as ecto-1 movie car diecast and the diecast cars from the fast and the furious franchise).

Anyway, enough with the words of persuasion. Together with this post are pictures of some of my collection and a little description of each. Enjoy!!!
