Playing Games To Mend The Effects Of Not Spending Time With Your Children?

Updated on April 30, 2011

Play Games Like World Of Warcraft

Could virtual games like World Of Warcraft pull families back together? For year in today's society families have been growing farther apart and parents make a poor attempt to speak the language of minors not even in their generation which have failed badly.

With high prices and lost wages the once plentiful can not try to buy the love of their child anymore and have to find other way's to spend time. Might I suggest learning a skill and language that intrigues a teen and allow you to spend time that they will cherish forever and possibly be the one bond that keeps you together......A virtual reality game!

Of course choose a game that is age appropriate, but choose. Every bit of leverage we can get in our childs life to keep us inside the loop is beneficial.

Effects Of Not Spending Time With Our Children

Our children stop understanding us early on in life and as they get older we become further a part and the harder we try the more we push them away. It's like a dog chasing his tail, he never get it!

  • Insecurity
  • Angry
  • TV/Online dependency

Just imagine having control over how long our children stay online and how much they will look forward to going to the next level of your current virtual computer game with you as a witness. You can conquer the world together or at least try...TOGETHER!

Imaging learning terms like:

  • Levels
  • Dailies
  • Gold
  • Zygor
  • Cataclysm
  • Orc

Finding out how to at least learn the terminology will show your child that you are serious and this alone will get their attention. Now the journey may be slow but it is a journey you can travel together. Imagine you child spreading the word about what the did over the weekend and it including you?

Get a crash course on War Of Warcraft by going to or if something like flight simulation is your thing. Just looking over these websites will allow you to know what is going on in the world of a teen.

You will definitely understand why they say you just don't understand. By the way while we are talking about spending time. You can also find out who your child is spending time on the cell phone with or their destination by downloading a GPS .

I don't like the word spying but with what our teens are facing today we need to step up. I hope you find this hub helpful and would appreciating you bookmarking or sharing it. To Family!

Exactly! We as parents have to participate with our children while instilling balance! We can not tell them to get off without showing them how. These games are used as baby sitters and playmates when we should be. Thank You LennyP

As an avid mmo player introduced my son to mmo's with Lego Universe. Unfortunately, I have seen the addiction creeping in and now I am going to have to do a better job of teaching him about limits and balance in your life.

Another excellent game! The Wii certainly have many choices of games to choose from and will prevent obesity. However sometimes we have to climb the teen mountain and do what is more appealing to them.

My opinion is that better than W.O.W. is games on the Wii in which kids are getting some kind of exercise.

      Good hub though!
