Assassin's Creed 2 Easter Eggs

Updated on April 6, 2011

Easter Eggs

Assassin's Creed 2 isn't what I would rate as being overly crammed with hundreds of different Easter Eggs from internet memes that most people have in fact never heard of and wont understand. However, just because the game lacks Easter Eggs doesn't mean that it shouldn't be given a second thought and never glanced at again. No, in fact, if you base the majority of your choice of video games on what Easter Eggs or other related items are in the game, then you must not have played some of the best games out there. The game does actually have Easter Eggs, very few but still, Easter Eggs. They are:

The Giant Squid

There is a Giant Squid in Santa Maria Delle Visitazoine. After you activate the bars and such (needed for gaining access to the final chamber) via lever, then walk up to the edge of the water and just wait in one spot. After about a minute, a cutscene should activate showing a Giant Squid swimming through the water, right in front of you! If you pull the lever again and wait in the same spot, a second cutscene should activate showing the Giant Squid attacking you with some of its tentacles, however you jump out of the way before it can hit you.

It's-a-me! Mario!

At the start of the 3rd sequence, Ezio's Uncle makes a slight reference to Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. The Uncle introduces himself by exclaiming "It's-a-me! Mario!"!

Altaïr's Outfit

Altaïr's outfit from Assassin's Creed, is available for Assassin's Creed 2 as an outfit, not armour. The outfit can be bought via Uplay, for 30 points. The outfit does NOT change any of Ezio's stat points however you can wear capes with it. So in theory you could walk around with the Medici or Venetian capes on and still retain 0% notoriety.
