Toys for Boys Ages 6 through 12- Bakugan Battle Brawlers.
The Bakugan Battle Brawlers
The Bakugan Battle Brawlers, like Yu-Gi-Oh, is based on a popular TV show that originally aired in Japan in 2007, then in Canada also in 2007 and recenlty in the US in February of 2008. The toys are currently some of the hottest toys around and are going to be on every kids list for Christmas this year.
Bakugan is similar to the popular Yu-Gi-Oh from several years ago. Bakugan is a strategic card game played with magnetic, spring-loaded marbles created by Sega Toys and Spin Master.
The action figures and game packs are based on the main characters of the series. The main plot of the series tells how Dan Kuso's life changed one day when random cards started falling from the sky. Some kids invented a new game with them called Bakugan. It's not an easy game when a Bakugan Brawler named Masquerade uses his Doom Cards to send defeated Bakugan to the Doom Dimension. Together with Runo Misaki, Marucho Marokuro, Julie Makimoto, Shun Kazami, and Alice Gehabich, they form the Bakugan Battle Brawlers which leads to their fights against Masquerade, Hal-G, and the Bakugan Naga for the fate of Vestroia.
Bakugan main Characters
Dan Kuso: Dan is a 12 year old boy who loves Bakugan and spend all his time playing it. He is crazy about Runo. At the end of the season finale, he is seen going on a date with Runo to the movies. His Guardian Bakugan is Pyrus Dragonoid (nicknamed Drago)who has a crush on Joe's Gaurdian Bakugan Wavern.
Joe Brown: He is 13-year-old also known as "Webmaster Joe" who created the Bakugan website. The Brawlers first thought that Joe was working with Masquerade, but it turns out that Joe sent a message to all of the Bakugan Brawlers in the chat room about Masquerade and becomes one of the Brawlers. He lives with his mother and soon moves to the Brawlers' neighborhood. Chan Lee seems to have a crush on Joe, whose feelings are revealed in the last episode. His Guardian Bakugan is Wayvern.
Hal-G: The loyal servant of Naga. He used to be a famous scientist named Michael, who mysteriously disappeared. He once studied Vestroia until an accident happened, and negative energy filled into his lab, causing him to turn into Hal-G. Alice went to his lab for a visit, and the negative energy turned her into Masquerade. Hal-G created a dimension transporter. His Guardian Bakugan is his boss Naga.
If you want to play right - you gotta have the arena.

What We Think
Fun Factor:
Durability:
(what this means)
The Good: Clever way to store Bakugan while making them readily accessible for battle.
The Bad: No instructions.
In a Nutshell: Fans of the game will prize this way of organizing their Bakugan while using the clips for battle just like Dan.

Ages: 5 and up
NOTE: The SpinMaster Bakurack Bakugan Collector Case does not include any Bakugan warriors or the optional Bakugan Launcher. These items are sold separately.
Two-in-One Toy: Spinning Case and Detachable Clips
There are no instructions that come with the collector case, but the picture on the box -- featuring Dan with a Bakuclip strapped to his side -- is informative. Without it, you might not realize that the five clips can be taken out of the case and strapped to an item of clothing. To make the sturdy plastic case spin open or closed, you twist the handle at the top, which we found to be a nifty feature.
Safe and Sound Storage for Bakugan Warriors
Your child will enjoy storing their Bakugan in the case when they're not playing, and then detaching the clips for their Bakugan battles. Fans of the show will also like wearing the same kind of clips as their hero Dan!
The spinning case is a great way for kids to show off their Bakugan collection and to keep track of the pocket-size toys. It also offers a good way for your child to transport their Bakugan to their friends' houses. When the case is in its closed position, the Bakugan are designed to remain securely inside.
Spin Open, Spin Closed!
We especially like how the case spins open and closed in one quick motion. And we also like how the individual clips are detachable. Though it would be nice if the case came with instructions, the picture and description on the box helps, and the case itself is relatively self-explanatory. We think that fans of the game will love this way of storing and showing off their Bakugan, while also keeping them ready for Bakugan battles on the go

Darkus Hydranoid - Guardian to Alice Gehabich who is a main character.
Alice Gehabich: She is a 14-year-old girl from Moscow who didn't play Bakugan until her identity of Masquerade had disappeared from her body. Upon his departure, Masquerade left her the Darkus-attribute Hydranoid. Michael is her grandfather, but after learning that her grandfather became Hal-G and works with Naga, she constantly worried about him. Alice usually just gives advice to the brawlers, instead of battling. Alice and Marucho are the 2 brawlers who mostly use strategy. Although Unlike Marucho, Alice gives her strategies to the brawlers. During season 2 she left the Brawlers after finding out that she was Masquerade out of intense guilt over what she did as him, but later returns in time to save Dan and Drago. Alice has a special ability to see the G's of a Bakugan on the field. Her Guardian Bakugan is Darkus-attribute Hydranoid which she inherited from Masquerade after he left her body.
Aquos Preyas - Guardian for Marucho Marokuro who is a main character.
Marucho Marokuro: He is a wealthy, 11-year old, blond-haired boy with glasses. He is caring, strong at heart, polite, and generous. He used to be extremely obedient to his parents out of fear he might be eaten, but that changed when he met the Brawlers. He now has no regrets for the past, realizing that he only wanted to make his parents happy. His Guardian Bakugan are the Aquos-attribute Preyas and the Haos Angelo/Pyrus Diablo Preyas. Preyus was sent to the Doom Dimension in Marucho's battle with Klaus Van Hertzon. Later Klaus shows up with Preyus. Dan and Runo find a way to get Preyus back through defeating him in battle. Preyas evolves into a two-sided Bakugan called Preyas Angelo and Preyas Diablo. Unlike the other Bakugan however, Preyas multiplies when he evolves, so Marucho got to keep the old Preyas.
The Ultimate Set - a Full Master Carton of 16 Marble/Action Figures
The popular and fun anime TV series "Bakugan Battle Brawlers" has spawned this strategic game that pits a variety of "Bakugan warriors" -- such as "Juggernoids," "Fear rippers," and "Robatallians" -- against each other for points. With this Bakugan Booster Pack, kids 4 and above will enjoy the challenge of earning points by rolling their Bakugan (or shooting them from a launcher) onto magnetic cards where the plastic spheres burst open to reveal the fearsome warrior apparatus inside. Kids will also love the way the Bakugan transform suddenly into warrior mode, and fans of the show will have an especially good time with the game.
Inside each plastic sphere is a fearsome warrior apparatus.
There are many colors and varieties of Bakugan to collect.
What We Think
Fun Factor:
Durability:
(what this means)
The Good: Wide variety of Bakugan make them fun for kids to trade and collect
The Bad: No instructions with some toys
In a Nutshell: Clever and exciting interactive game that kids will enjoy even if they're not familiar with the TV show

Ages: 4 and up
NOTE: The Bakugan Booster Pack includes a randomly selected single Bakugan warrior. It also includes one metal card. It does not include the optional Bakugan Launcher.
Ready, Set, Play!
The mission of Bakugan game play is to battle against other Bakugan to win the points awarded on the cards by getting your Bakugan to land on card. Players will love pretending to be one of the various characters in the show, such as the fiery 12-year-old leader "Dan" or the wise "Marucho," and they gain a deeper understanding of the cards and warriors as they play.
The Booster Pack doesn't come with instructions. It's designed for kids who already know how to play the game and want to increase their collection of Bakugan. If your child is a newbie to Bakugan Battle Brawlers, you might consider getting the Starter Pack or the Battle Pack since both come with instructions. The game itself is fairly straightforward, but if your child has never played before, you might have to help him or her to understand the rules -- after reading and understanding them yourself. While some of the plastic Bakugan pieces are small and could easily get lost, others, like the Bakugan Deka, are as big as a softball.
The Booster Pack comes with one Bakugan and one magnetic card -- perfect for the child who is already a fan of the game and who wants another Bakugan to boost their collection.
Exciting Magnetic Action
The Bakugan come in lots of colors and varieties that make them fun to collect and trade. Most of them are pocket-sized and easy for your child to carry around and bring over to their friends' houses. Having a magnet that activates the warriors is a clever idea that adds excitement to the game. The Bakugan Launcher (sold separately) is a great accessory, with three shooting modes ("curve," "angle, and "distance"), but it doesn't come with any instructions.
Room for the Imagination
We like that this that this game combines skill (aiming your Bakugan) with strategy (placement of the cards). We also enjoyed the way the warriors pop open on the magnetic cards -- although sometimes they do it even when they don't land on the cards. Being unfamiliar with the TV show, we felt a little lost at first in the world of Bakugan. But with the help of the colorful, animated Bakugan Web site, we got the gist of what the game is about and how to play. Our attempts to fire the launcher proved somewhat difficult and instructions would have helped. But the launcher isn't necessary. Kids can simply roll the Bakugan like marbles for a fun and action-packed game with their friends.
What's in the Box
