Black Ops Ascension Zombie Map - New Perks and weapons

Updated on February 8, 2011

The new map Ascension, for Call of Duty Black Ops Zombie mode, has new perks and weapons. Ascension is included with the "first strike map pack" released on February 1st, 2011 for the Xbox 360. Ascension will feature two new perks called phd flopper, and stamin-up. New weapons include the Gersch device, and matryoska dolls. Original perks will also return, except double tap will not be a perk in Ascension for some reason. However, the other three perks jugger-nog, speed cola, and quick revive will return.

New Perks!

Phd flopper is a perk that gives you explosive resistance, decreased to no falling damage, and will create a small shock wave when you do the combat jump. The shock wave is essentially a mini-nuke that will destroy the zombies around you in a small radius.

Stamin-up allows you to sprint longer, and run faster with heavy weapons. Basically, lightweight, and marathon combined. This perk has the potential to be very effective because Ascension is a very large zombie map. With this perk, you'll be able to make it to other areas of the map much faster.

New Weapons!

Gersch Device is basically a black hole bomb. When thrown, all the zombies will be sucked into the black hole vortex. Similar to monkey bombs, it serves as a distraction, except this time, it gets rid of more zombies. This is a secondary thrown weapon, it does not take the place of your grenades. This can only be found in a mystery box. You can have up to three at one time.

Matryoska Dolls is a thrown secondary weapon that explodes multiple times to clear a small area of zombies. You can not have both the Gersch Device and these dolls at the same time. These basically serve the same purpose as grenades, except they will explode more than once. (can hold up to three at once)

Sickle is a melee weapon that is about 2x stronger than your regular knife. This does the same amount of damage as the bowie knife did. It costs 3000 points.
