Buy Corgi Magic Roundabout Figures

Updated on March 17, 2011

The Corgi Magic Roundabout Toy range was a limited collectable range produced by Corgi in the early 70's just at the height of the TV shows popularity. The series covers a range of different scenes from the TV show such as the Magic Roundabout itself, the Train, Mr McHenry's Trike based on the Magic Roundabout characters of Florence, Dougal, Dylan and Zebedee and is a beautiful Limited Edition set to collect.

The Magic Roundabout was originally created for French TV by Serge Danot in 1965. Eric Thompson adapted the show for the BBC. He took the original French programme’s characters and animation and added his own witty scripts. This evolved into a crazy mixture of off-the wall characters such as the too-cute Florence, the bumbling Ermintude, manic Brian the Snail and the over-zealous Zebedee. However it was the clever script and the sardonic remarks of Dougal and the trippy, hippy behaviour of Dylan the Rabbit that really was its trump card for adults as well as kids. It spawned countless catch phrases most notable being the inimitable closing remark of ‘Time for Bed said Zebedee’.

These vintage items have now become very collectible. Ebay is a good source for Corgi Magic Roundabout Figures both new and used and they can be at extremely reasonable prices, Ebay also gives you a huge variety to choose from as well as allowing you to still find items that are no longer available.
