Buy Lego Mindstorms NXT

Updated on March 17, 2011

Lego Mindstorms NXT is the newest version of the Lego Mindstorms series and is a theme which utilises Technics robot pieces. It was released in 2006 and has been running continously to the current day, a later addition has now been added and dubbed NXT 2.0. Mindstorms are controlled by a special master brick to which motors or other sensors can be attached. This master brick can be programmed using a computer to take inputs from the sensors, interpret and then act on the data with the motors or other output devices like LEGO lamps which allows for the creation of wireless lego robots. These Sensors can be things like, thermometers, light sensors, sound sensors, touch sensors, and Ultrasonic sensors.

One of the most exciting advances brought out with Mindstorms NXT has been the addition of Bluetooth so that any Bluetooth enabled device such as a phone can be used to command the robot.
