Buy Lego Technic Racers

Updated on September 11, 2011

The Lego Technic range was a range of Lego that involved moving parts such as gears and rods which allowed the models to move more freely, in these models rather than just the standard lego studs, there were axles and pegs used. The models that could therefore be built were much more complex and the results much more satisfying, typically the audience that this was aimed at was quite a bit older than the traditional lego audience.

Later sets in the series evolved into the use of motors, pneumatic pieces and the development of the pieces developed for the Technic range eventually filtered down to the more standard sets such as the Bionicle sets which had a lot of moving parts.

This hub concentrates on the range of Technic models that were allied to the Racers theme, in particular the models of Formula 1 racing cars, these models were primarily Ferrari Forumla 1 cars but there was also a Williams model produced.

Williams F1 Team Racer No. 8374

This set was released in 2003 and contained a 1:27 scale model of a Williams Formula 1 racing car. This set contained only 92 pieces plus one minifigure of the driver.

This set was the precursor to the Ferrari models that were produced later in much more detailed and stylised form.

On the right are many of the items for sale on Ebay ranging from the complete set to pieces from the set.

Ferrari F1 Racer No. 8386

This was the first Ferrari released in the Technics range in 2004 and was a beautiful 1:10 scale model containing a mind blowing 719 pieces.

This authentic Ferrari model let you dig into all of the detail of a true Ferrari F1 race car; the aerodynamic design, the monster V10 engine and the fully functional steering system. The model is an incredible 47cm long and features big tyres, colorful stickers and more to make it the ultimate racing machine.

This is a must-have for Ferrari fans and is really good value.

Enzo Ferrari No. 8653

This was the second Ferrari model to be produced in the Technics range in 2005 and featured another wonderful 1:10 scale model of an Enzo Ferrari sports car. This set contained a truly staggering 1360 pieces but did not include any minifigures.

This authentic Ferrari model of course has the normal detailed engine and a fully functional steering system. The model is a whopping 26 inches long.

This set is extremely rare now and is hard to come by but if it does become available on Ebay which it occasionally does it will appear on the right. If its there be sure to snap up a bargain before its too late.

This was the third Ferarri model to be released in the Technics range and was released in 2006. It featured a beautifully produced 1:8 scale model of a Ferrari Formula 1 race car and the set contained a jaw-dropping 1246 pieces.

This authentic model had all the intricate details of a Ferrari F1 race car, the aerodynamic design, the monster V10 engine and the fully functional steering system. The car features big tires, colorful stickers and more to make it the ultimate racing machine.

Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano No. 8145

This was the final Ferarri model released in the Technics range and was released in 2007, it featured a fantastic 1:10 scale mode of a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano sports car and contained an eye-watering 1329 pieces.

This model has a sophisticated design, a V12 engine with working pistons, opening doors and bonnet, and a working steering system. The working steering system turns front tyres and the V12 front mounted engine has working pistons.

This was probably the cream of te crop of the Technics Racers range and capped the range off well. Despite being such a wonderful model it can still be quite rare to find. If it is available on Ebay it will show up on the right.
