Doku DSBremix HD Minecraft Texture Pack (32 x 32)
There have been more Doku packs than I've had hot dinners, but this one is easily one of the slickest RPG style HD texture packs I've ever seen for Minecraft. If you're looking for something that's sort of JRPG, sort of happy happy farm time, sort of soothing to the eyes, I think you'll have found what you're looking for with this texture pack.
If I had to summarize the ambiance this texture pack creates with one word, that word would be 'friendly'. Animals, especially pigs, are adorable, which makes setting them on fire for their cooked pork chops a little more difficult than usual, but then again, the little chops are so cutely delicious that it makes it all worth while.
Even the sand seems somehow friendly. I think it's because it's depicted as round and grainy rather than wavy and liney. As everyone knows, round things are far more friendly and welcoming than straight, line things. This lesson in shape psychology brought to you by a chicken in a white coat.
My lava lair has never looked so welcoming before. You'd think that walls of fire and falling lava would make for a foreboding ambiance, and in most texture packs, the place is genuinely terrifying. In this 'bremix', it seems like a light and airy place – perhaps a good spot to dry some wet laundry.
I'm probably not selling this texture pack in the way it deserves to be sold with all these mentions of cuteness and adorability, all in all though, this is a very high quality piece of work, and I defy any Minecrafter not to enjoy it on one level or another.
A minor point I quite enjoy is the fact that if you put two ladders side by side, they seem to join up, allowing you to create nice looking climbing walls. This probably isn't a major priority for most Minecrafters, but I'm personally partial to being able to sway up and down sheer cliffs with all the aplomb of a sailor under the influence.
A minor (very minor) negative point is that this pack falls into the trap so many other packs fall into and gives cows little beady eyes. If you've ever seen a cow in person (or taken five minutes to look at a picture of one on the Internet), you'll know that they have large soulful eyes. Pigs, on the other hand, have little beady eyes. It's very strange how many texture pack artists mess this little detail up.
It's time for you to download this HD texture pack I think. Time for you to come to your own conclusions.
