EVEonline: How to pay for EVEonline

I have been a chef for the last 10 years but I enjoy writing as a hobby. I really enjoy writing for Hubpages because it is fun!

What is EVE online?

EVE online (or EON) is a massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG). Like the best MMORPG’s EVE online is a subscription based game, which means that if you, want to play it you, need to pay a fee every month. The best MMORPG’s use a subscription because it helps the companies that own the game to constantly update the game and defeat any bugs that may occur. If you have a tight budget, like most people do because of the economy being in such turmoil you may like to know an almost fool-proof way of funding your EVE online subscription. If you do then please keep on reading this Hub as it will show you a great way of funding your EVE online account.

What makes EVE online different from every other MMORPG?

The biggest difference between EVE online and most other MMORPG’s is that EVE is based on one server. Most MMORPG’s have several servers for people to join to play the game. EVE does not. When you log on to EVE online and begin playing you will be playing on the exact same server that every other member of EVE online is playing on. When I logged in this morning there were over 30,000 players logged in. This means that there were over 30,000 people that I could trade with, attack, run missions with, form a corps or destroy.

The other main difference is that your character will learn skills even when you are logged out of the game. To learn a skill you will require a skill book, and then you will have to click on it to begin learning that skill. The skill will be learned in real time so even if you log out of your account the character will continue to learn the skill. This is a different way of teaching your character skills, usually in an MMORPG you have to acquire EXP (experience points), or sometimes SP (skill points) in order to learn a skill and these tend to be acquired by killing NPC’s or by completing quests.

How to pay for EVE online?

EVE online has a monthly subscription fee of $15. This means that in order to play this game you have to fork out $15 every month. For some people $15 is nothing, but for people like me who are living on a shoe string budget $15 is a fair amount to pay every month. If you are struggling to find $15 each month there is a way of making $15 each month with minimal effort. If $15 per month is a problem for you then your answer is Squidoo.com. Squidoo is a site similar to Hubpages (you are currently reading an article that is on Hubpages.com). The thing with Squidoo is that it has a feature that allows you to transfer your articles (which are called lenses on Squidoo.com [as opposed to Hubs on Hubpages.com]) to other members meaning that you can actually sell your Lenses to other lensmasters (other members of Squidoo.com). I will not go into the nitty-gritty of it all but will tell you that it is quite easy to create and sell 3 lenses per month and sell them for $5 each.

This Hub is designed to point you in the right direction for funding your EVE online account. I will not go into all the details that you will need for creating and selling Squidoo lenses because that would involve a long winded explanation that would involve keyword research, SEO, article writing tips, explanations about passive income, Google Adsense, affiliate marketing, and a whole host of other information that would turn this Hub into something more akin to an eBook or a Hubpage series and I just don’t have the time or inclination to create that so for now all you have to do is:

  1. Join Squidoo.com
  2. Create Squidoo Lenses
  3. Sell 3 of those lenses for $5 each (it is a good idea to write more than the three each month so that your Squidoo account has more than 3 lenses in it. This way you will be able to establish yourself as an active member of Squidoo and will find buyers much easier. Also if you write enough lenses you may end up making $15 per month without having to sell your lenses).
  4. Then you use your PayPal account to pay for your EVEonline game card.

Why choose Squidoo.com?

Squidoo is a great place for newbie writers to create stunning WebPages and show off their writing skills, it is also a good place to make a little money for creating articles. If you are a member of Hubpages then you will find Squidoo really easy to get to grips with as there are many similarities between Hubpages and Squidoo. Also it is a very community based site so there are lots of friendly people who will help you out and give you lots of useful tips.

I hope this has helped to give you an idea of how you can pay for your EVEonline subscription without using the money that you earned through your job.
