Tips for Playing In Game

FIRST - Training exercises. Each time a game is released EA Sports adds a number of training exercises that you can practice that not only incorporate new features, but also teach you the fundamentals of the game. So obviously my first tip has to be going over and practicing these. You should learn the ropes, and learn the new features, while also increasing skill at the game. Some of the most important training exercises included would be the dribbling which will teach you how to maneuver the ball and shooting which is how you are going to score in game. Passing is also important but overall I suggest playing these to learn the ropes.

SECOND - Learn the benefits of the different passes. Passes using the Y button (Xbox) will do a lead pass, and if done right could give you a 1 on 1 with the keeper on the enemy team. When pressing LB when hitting Y you will do a lob lead pass which will toss that ball over the defenders and if done right also give you a 1 on 1 with the goalie on the other team. The Y button is a way that can give you significant advantage when playing against certain teams. Especially if you have players on your team that are very fast on the attacking side. Players that have a high pace can easily get past defenders and will give you scoring opportunities very often.

THIRD - Choosing your attack strategy. When you are playing in game you need to choose your attack strategy. For instance when I start the game I immediately put the game on an ultra attacking strategy using the D-pad. By doing this it keeps my players further up the field and ready to catch that lead pass that I will be giving to them. My players are also based on pace which makes the defense have a hard time adapting unless they go on ultra defensive which is also going to make it difficult for them to score. Starting out you should leave your play style on balanced, but as you get better you can toy around with this. If you are down and little time is left you can go to an all out attack play style which will help you attempt to score in a tight situation. Or if you are up by a goal and little time is left it can be beneficial to go to a park the bus type defensive strategy.

FOURTH - Knowing how to shoot. Knowing how to shoot is important. If you don't know how to shoot many times you can run down the field have an open shot and miss. Those who know how to shoot when given a 1 on 1 with the keeper will score 9 times out of 10. Finesse shots will help you if you are going straight at the keeper. By performing this move hold RB when shooting and your player will attempt a finesse shot. You can also choose the chip shot option if the defender is pulling his goalie out of the net. By performing this you will hit LB when the goalie is coming out of the net then using the shoot button if performed right will chip the ball right over his head and into the net. Knowing how to shoot can be very important when playing a game and will overall lead to your success or demise.

FIFTH - Practice. Practice makes perfect, and the more you play the better you will get. Over time you will get better at the game, and learn tips and tricks to help you perform better. The trick is just sticking with the game and playing to get better.

Summary

Overall playing in game will take a lot of practice, and playing against other opponents to learn the tips and tricks for yourself. Although if you stay persistent then you should have no problem getting better and you will see yourself get better over time.
