Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: Beginner Progress Guide
It's not often that a mobile game would need a beginner guide but Brave Exvius is pretty deep game and some things aren't as obvious as they should be, especially if you haven't played any other games from the Final Fantasy series before or any mobile games of this type.
The purpose of this article is to help you out if you're stuck and can't seem to progress through the story in the world of Lapis, more than anything else. So it is by no means and exhaustive look at all the aspects of the game or even a complete list of all possible tips. So let's get started!
Friends are your best resource
Probably the best thing you can do at the start is to expand your friend slots and find some active players to help you out with their units. Each friend you have puts one of their units at your disposal (their most powerful one usually) which you can bring along in story missions. As a bonus, they can give you one gift of your choosing each day, which can be either friend points or even gil. But friend points is recommended as explained below. You can set your preferred gift on your profile.
Finally, you can use those friend points to summon other units up to 3 stars quality. If you get a 3 stars unit, you can level it up and use it in your party, but for 1 or 2 stars units I recommend you sell them or put them in a separate party, take them to the Chamber of Experience alongside a higher level friend, level them up and then sell them for even more gil.
Fusing units, cactuars and gil snappers
When starting your journey in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius it's a good idea to not fuse summoned units unless they are 1 or 2 stars quality, because you can't know their value without a bit of experience playing the game. What you can safely fuse with your own units are the cactuars: metal minituar, metal cactuar, metal gigantuar and king metal minituar. All these units look like cacti (hence the name) and their only purpose of these units is to provide experience when fused with other units.
As for selling units, same rule applies, you are better off not selling anything that is higher than 2 stars quality. You can safely sell gil snapper units: mini gil snapper, gil snapper, king gil snapper, gil snapper family. All these units look like turtles and their only purpose is to be sold for gil.
The Chamber of Experience is your friend
Even if you play the story a lot, after a while the units in your party won't level up fast enough to keep up, so it's a good idea to unlock the Chamber of Experience and do a few runs of that to level up faster. You can also create a party of units summoned with friend points and have them carried by a higher level friend unit, level them up and then sell them for gil.
You need a full party of 3 star units or above
It's not really worth investing a lot in 1 or 2 star units here, you can use them a bit and try them out if you want but getting through the story in the world of Brave Exvius is much easier with a full party of higher quality units. Enemies have all kinds of weaknesses and resistances so you'll need a balanced party with at least one healer, one mage, one tank and a physical damage dealer. Rain is a tank and Laswell is a physical damage dealer and you should be getting Ludmille early one which can both heal and do magic damage.
You can get other 3 star quality and above units by summoning using the daily 250 lapis summon, using summoning tickets or doing a 5000 lapis 10+1 summon.
