Grand Theft Auto V Cheat Codes

Ahhh, cheat codes. The mainstay of every player who's ever gotten bored of a game. Capable of bestowing invincibility, extra ammo, cars from thin air and instant drunkenness, the cheats of Grand Theft Auto V will help you get through tight spots - or just relieve the tedium of a game you've beaten into the ground.

All of the codes listed are entered in-game, so be careful where you are - or who you're around - when you enter them. You may just punch someone by mistake. Activating cheat codes will also deactivate achievements and trophies, depending on your system.

Character Cheats

The following cheats will work only on a single character. Switch characters and they'll become inactive. You'll also lose the effects of these cheats if you're killed or busted.

Special Ability Recharge - Receive an instant boost to full on your character's special ability. Note that this is not unlimited - your special ability will still drain as it's being used.

PS3 - X, X, X, R1, L1, X, Right, Left, X

XBOX 360 - A, A, X, RB, A, Right, Left, A

Wanted Level Up - Get to get in a bit of mischief? This code will raise your Wanted Level by a single star each time you use it.

PS3 - R1, R1, Circle, R2, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right

XBOX 360 - RB, RB, B, RT, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right

Wanted Level Down - The heat's on and you've had enough. Enter this code and you'll lower your Wanted Level by a single star.

XBOX 360 - RB, RB, B, RT, Right, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left

Slow Motion Aim - The world is suddenly a lot slower, and for once it's not Michael or Franklin's fault. Activate this code and everything will slow down when you're aiming a gun. You can activate this code up to three times, making the game progressively slower each time.

PS3 - Square, L2, R1, Triangle, Left, Square, L2, Right, X

XBOX 360 - X, LT, RB, Y, Left, X, LT, Right, A

Invincibility - The world is your playground. For the next five minutes your character cannot be killed, no matter what. Note that you must reenter the code after five minutes to resume invincibility; entering the code multiple times in a row will not work.

PS3 - Right, X, Right, Left, Right, R1, Right, Left, X, Triangle

XBOX 360 - Right, A, Right, Left, Right, RB, Right, Left, A, Y

Super Jump - Weeeee! Activate this cheat and your character will zip into the air every time he jumps. The longer you hold the jump button, the further he'll go.

PS3 - Left, Left, Triangle, Triangle, Right Right, Left, Right, Square, R1, R2

XBOX 360 - Left, Left, Y, Y, Right, Right, Left, Right, X, RB, RT

Max Health and Armor - The title says it all. Your character is immediately gifted with full health and armor.

XBOX 360 - B, LB, Y, RT, A, X, B, Right, X, LB, LB, LB

Fast Run - Athletes have nothing on you. Activate this cheat and your character will immediately receive a sizable speed boost while running. You still can't keep up with most vehicles, but running from cops should be a piece of cake.

PS3 - Triangle, Left, Right, Right, L2, L1, Square

XBOX 360 - Y, Left, Right, Right, LT, LB, X

Fast Swim - Cut through the water like a fish. Activate Fast Swim and your character will outpace anybody in the water. Not that useful most of the time, but, eh.

PS3 - Left, Left, L1, Right, Right, R2, Left, L2, Right

XBOX 360 - Left, Left, LB, Right, Right, RT, Left, LT, Right

Bang Bang! - Add some flare to your bullets. Activate this cheat and every time you shoot something you'll create a small explosion. Handy for taking out cars in a flash.

XBOX 360 - Right, X, A, Left, RB, RT, Left, Right, Right, LB, LB, LB

Flaming Bullets - Toasty. Activate this cheat and every bullet you fire will set things on fire. As far as I can tell this only really works on people and vehicles (though feel free to prove me wrong).

XBOX 360 - LB, RB, X, RB, Left, RT, RB, Left, X, Right, LB, LB

Drunk Mode - Enjoy being tipsy? Now you can be drunk all day long! Activate this cheat and your character will be perpetually drunk. Enter the code again to turn this mode off.

PS3 - Triangle, Right, Right, Left, Right, Square, Circle, Left

XBOX 360 - Y, Right, Right, Left, Right, X, B, Left

Explosive Melee - And you thought your fists were mighty before. Activate this cheat and every melee attack you deal will come coupled with an explosion. This is a fine way to destroy just about anyone or anything. Be warned, though - punch a car and it will probably blow up in your face.

Item and Weapon Codes

Want some swag but aren't willing to shell out the money? These codes will bring free items and weapons to your doorstep, free of charge. You'll have to activate these codes for each character.

Parachute Given - Want a parachute? You got it.

Give Weapons - Every thief could use an arsenal. Activate this cheat and the current character will be gifted with a variety of weapons he did not have before.

World Cheats

The following cheats affect the world around you. Depending on the cheat, they will remain active when you switch between characters.

Moon Gravity - Los Santos has relocated to a less terrestrial location. Activate this cheat and gravity will be greatly reduced; falls are less deadly, jumps will take longer to land, and vehicles will move more slowly than usual.

PS3 - Left, Left, L1, R1, L1, Right, Left, L1, Left

XBOX 360 - Left, Left, LB, RB, LB, Right, Left, LB, Left

Skyfall - Tired of having to track down airplanes to jump out of? Skyfall will immediately zip your character into the sky, right above where he was last standing. He will then, y'know, fall. Not recommended if you don't have a parachute handy.

Slow Motion - Similar to the cheats above, though this cheat is active all the time. You can slow down the world three times, then enter the code one more time to reset things to normal.

Drunk Mode - Tipsy turvy all over the place. The same as the character-based cheat.

Change Weather - Does as prescribed. Each time you enter this cheat you'll change the weather. It cycles through Extra Sunny, Clear, Cloudy, Smoggy, Overcast, Rainy, Thundery, Clearing, and Snowy.
