Grand Theft Auto V Walkthrough: Exercising Demons - Franklin
Character: Franklin
Location: Paleto Bay
Unlocked After: The Paleto Score (I think)
This woman has issues. Not much more need be said about Mary-Ann, the exercise fanatic with a massive rage problem. It's a shame, too, that she constantly inflicts them on others. Like Michael before her, is Franklin fit enough to beat this lady at her own game and maybe, just maybe, prove that there are some things supreme fitness can't fix?
...
Probably not. Maybe Trevor will have more luck.
- Drive out to Paleto Bay. The mission is located below the edge of a cape jutting out the coast just west of town. Check the beach; you'll see a woman stretching on a beach blanket. Oh lord.
- Watch the cut scene. Prepare for a triathalon.
As you might predict, this mission takes place in three parts. Each requires a large amount of Stamina, thus it's probably a good idea to have Franklin maxed out on his Stamina stat before participating.
Swimming
As the cut scene is coming to an end, bolt for the water and hop in. Swim directly across the bay to the other side, passing through the checkpoints on the way. Once you hit the beach, start hopping across the sand to make extra time. You won't be able to run properly in the shallows. You can get quite a lead on Mary-Ann at this point, so make the most of it.
Biking
Grab the first bike you come to and start pedalling through the checkpoints. Mary-Ann's pretty swift here, but you should have enough of a lead after the swimming that you can recover your Stamina a smidge without letting her overtake you. There are a few posts to watch out for at the beginning of this section, but they're nothing dire. The most problematic area is the jump - push forward too vigourously when you hit and you'll probably be at a bad angle when you land, after the slo-mo shot. Take it a little light and you'll land properly, and be in a good position for the final leg.
Running
This is pretty straightforward - just a jog up to the top of the cape. Keep following the path, and no matter what, stay in front of Mary-Ann. If your Stamina begins to flag, stay DIRECTLY in front of her and you can slow her down a bit before she passes you, giving you precious seconds to recover and get back on the offensive.
Gold Medal Completion
Champion - Win the race without using shortcuts. There are a few spots where you can cut across grass to save time, but they're really not necessary. Stick to the checkpoints and you can beat Mary-Ann without a whole lot of trouble.
