How to play a celebrity game - party ideas

One of my favorite games to play with friends is a celebrity game. The advantage of this game is that the number of players can be any starting from two. This game demands some general knowledge on behalf of the players. It trains memory, attention, logical thinking and it is fun to play! It can be played by adults or children, at home, in the garden, in the restaurant, or on the train...

The idea is to think of some celebrity of the present or the past (this could be anyone, Einstein or Britney Spears, but familiar to the players) and to try to guess who it is just by asking questions that would demand the answer yes or no.

To play this game, you will need some post-it notes and pens. Each player thinks of some famous person and writes his or her name on the post-it note. Then he or she sticks this note on the forehead of the player sitting next to him on the right. The players must try to guess what celebrity’s name they have on their forehead. Now players take turns asking questions. The answer to the question must be yes or no. The questions must start with the words “Am I…” For example, “Am I a composer?” “Am I alive?” A player can only ask one question at a time.

The winner is the person who is the first to identify himself. The last to find out the name of the celebrity looses.

However, players can do without the post-it notes. The player who thinks of the celebrity name for another player then whispers the name into the rest of the players’ ears, and they can put it down on a little note visible only to them.
