Is the EA SPorts Season Ticket worth buying for FIFA 13 ? Details and info with my review FUT

Updated on November 20, 2012

Intro

In this guide I will talk about whether or not the EA Sports season ticket is worth buying for FIFA 13, and other EA Sports games. I will start by saying that I have bought the season ticket, will give my review, and whether or no I think it is worth it for you to spend your money on this.

Before I get to the actual guide I would like to add that you can ask questions, or comment below at the bottom of the page, or you can ask them on the Xbox live network.. My gamer tag is MKS JohnR space between the two. Or you can follow me on twitter @Johnrr631992 , or Twitter.com/Johnrr631992 .

What is Season Ticket.

Okay, so if you have never heard of Season ticket, then basically it is an in game purchase that costs 24.99. The price will give you a few bonuses.

First off the MAIN reason people buy the season ticket is to take advantage of the free packs of cards you will receive on the Ultimate Team game mode. You will receive $30.00 worth of card packs over the course of 24 weeks, every week receiving 1 card. With that being said, that will for the most part pay for your entire guide right from the start. This is a big hit for the season ticket buyers, especially if you play more than 1 of the featured games.

The second reason that a LOT of people buy the Season ticket is so that they can take full advantage of the pre release of each game. Once of the perks of Season Ticket is that you can get each of the games 3 days before the game is released. This was especially effective on Ultimate Team for FIFA, considering I was able to get 2 gold packs, and start building my team before the game had even been released to the public on disc.

The third perk which is an additional perk, but not one that people buy the season ticket for is 20% discount on all DLC content. If you purchase anything within the game you will get a 20% discount which over time may also pay for the Season Ticket itself.

So now let me talk about if its worth it or not.

Is It Worth it?

The simple answer is Yes, and No...

First I will talk about the Yes.
I bought the Season Ticket initially for the reason for the Madden card packs.. But once I knew that I would be buying FIFA 13 to write about, and most likely NHL, and the other EA Sports games, I knew that it would be a good decision. With that being said, if you are going to be buying more than 1 of the games that EA Sports makes, then YES it is worth buying. Because then you are getting a $60.00 value for the card packs + 20% discount on both games + you are getting them earlier. NOT TO MENTION if you bought the season ticket after reading this you will ALSO get next years games (Madden, NHL, AND FIFA) 3 days early because the Season Ticket is good for a WHOLE YEAR.. So in that sense it is also worth it.

Now I can talk about the NO. If you are looking to buy the Season Ticket for JUST FIFA, then it probably is not worth it. If you REALLY want the free card packs then it may be a pot sweetener, BUT keep in mind that you get the cards over the course of 24 weeks, at 1 pack a week. So on that instance it may also not be worth it. I can honestly say that I don't think it will be smart for you to buy the season ticket if you are only going to play the FIFA game. While you are saving money on packs, and get the 20% discount, overall the value seems worth it only if you are using it for other titles. ALSO being that this is the last MAJOR game that is released with the guaranteed card packs, I think if you are going to buy it, it should be more looking towards next years releases.

Keep in mind there are still many games to be released like nba live, Tiger woods, SSX, and many more titles, BUT there is no guarantee that you will receive anything significant beyond the 3 day early release. So with that being said, be careful in choosing to buy your season ticket.

Summary

So overall I think it falls down to what you expect out of the game, and what you intend on completing. It is not perfect for everyone, BUT in my case where I have been buying all the EA sports games to write about, I can honestly say that it has been worth it for me to buy the season ticket. Overall I think it is a good deal, but only under certain circumstances as said above. Thanks again for reading, and please feel free to comment below to let me know what you think of the season ticket, along with if you bought it, going to buy it, or think it's a waste of money, or not right for you. Thanks.
