Isabelle Palmer: American Girl of the Year 2014

Updated on February 9, 2014

American Girl’s new Girl of the Year

Isabelle Palmer is the Girl of the Year Doll for 2014. She made her official debut on Wednesday, January 1st.

She is an 18" doll with straight blond hair, pink ombre hair extensions, and hazel eyes. Isabelle comes dressed in an asymmetrical pink short sleeve top with a ballerina graphic print, grey capri pants, and gold glitter flats. Accessories include a black jacket, gold glitter purse, pink arm warmers, flower hairpin, school ID, and metro pass.

There are three books that tell her story. Her character is a 10 year old dancer from Washington D.C. who loves fashion design.

There will also be an Isabelle movie.

It's already the end of December and photos and details are still hard to come by. I've seen very fuzzy images of her pages the January 2014 catalog but that's all. This is quite different from last year when I had much more to show before the official January reveal.

Her collection looks to be very large, and there will be a lot of mix and match clothing pieces. As you'd expect, her furniture and accessories are dance and fashion design related. Notable items include a dance barre, sewing machine, and armoire. She also has a white kitten named Tutu. You can see some of them in the video below.

I expect the 3 book covers to be posted soon. I'll share them here when I find them.
Update: Well, we had to wait until January first, but we can finally see the cover art.
