Kingdoms of Camelot Tutorial - Best way to use Divine Inspiration

Updated on September 2, 2011

Kingdoms of Camelot Tutorial

Kingdoms of Camelot is a game that can be played through Facebook. It is a real-time multiplayer strategy game that is every similar to Evony (

In this game, you should join an alliance and work together to build your cities and armies.  Your alliance will be there for your support and mutual defense.  By far, this group of players will be your biggest advocates as you grow your kingdom.

Your buildings are capped at level nine unless you are fortunate enough to acquire a Divine Inspiration. If you would like to earn one, please read Kingdoms of Camelot Tutorial - Divine Inspiration.

What should you do with it?

Once you have acquired the item, Divine Inspiration, you need to make a decision on how to use it.

While you may use this item on any level nine building, there are a few that should be noted for consideration.

Alchemy Lab

The Alchemy Lab is the building to consider for upgrading first.

Upgrading to a level ten Alchemy Lab unlocks several level ten researches become unlocked:

  • Eagle Eyes - gives more details while scouting
  • Poisoned Edge - improves attack by 5%
  • Featherweight Powder - increases troops' loads by 10%
  • Magical Mapping - increases infantry's marching speed by 10%
  • Fletching - improves projectiles' range by 5%
  • Healing Potions - increases troops' health by 5%
  • Giant's Strength - increases construction speed by 10%

Upgrading the Alchemy Lab first will allow you to improve your strength, health, speed, and range. These attributes will enable your army to tackle stronger opponents and will improve your resource collections.

This is definitely an option to consider first.

A level nine castle allows you to control nine wildernesses and 37 field slots (farms, mines, sawmills, or quarries).

Using the Divine Inspiration to upgrade to a level ten castle will allow you to control ten wildernesses, 40 field slots and to upgrade to level 10 cottages.

This is a significant boost in resources. Another Kingdoms of Camelot Tutorial discusses food management practices. Farms and food will be the limiting factor as you progress in the game.

Adding three field slots will allow you to build three level nine farms. Each level nine farm will produce 4,500 food per hour, for a total of 13,500 additional food per hour. The additional wilderness slot will allow you to take advantage of a level 10 lake or grassland, improving your food production by another 50%.

Upgrading your castle first is a very good option as it eases your food drain when your might increases.

Level nine walls provide 4,500,000 durability and has 45,000 defensive unit spaces.

If you use the Divine Inspiration to upgrade this building to a level ten, the durability will increase to 5,500,000 and will allow 55,000 defensive unit spaces.

If you engage in a lot of PvP (Player versus Player) combat, or your alliance is fairly aggressive, then upgrading a wall first may be a good step to protecting your resources.  To breach this upgraded wall, the enemy will need to be extremely fortified and will probably suffer great losses getting through your defenses.

level 10 farm 10% more food, after those 3 (alch lab, castle and wall) then lvl 10 rally point, and than lvl 11 rally point so you can send 150k troops.

Build your workshop and watchtower to level 10 and your castle and wall to level 11. Once the wall is up to level 11 start building wall mounted crossbows and spiked barriers. A level 11 wall will make your city impregnable to all but the most determined players.

upgrading the wall is stupid. Things to consider:

      1. Alch Lab - def #1 upgrade

      2. Castle - those resource tiles and wild slots help a lot.

      3. 1 lvl10 farm - this lets you get the farm lvl10 research technology - 10% boost to farm generation

      4. 1 lvl10 mine & lvl10 BS - this in conjunction with lvl10 BS (or WS - forget which) allows you to go for lvl10 defense technology.

      5. lvl10 rally points - it helps with farming and attacking in pvp with those 100k troops (and 125k troops with an aura of command)

I'd use the DI for Ralley Point first, there is nothing better than to be able to send 100k troops instead of 90k! all other can be done with workarounds, but you will not be able to increase army strength tis much with any other building :(

The objective of building up your kingdom is really something beyond my grasp. What's so unique about this game though is the 'knight's system" which is really unique because you get to interact with your Knights who work to represent you as their king.
